Mirroring Hybrid Unpatriots

September 4, 2015 Andrew Smolski

We who are not patriots
Vaginal birth a reason to love mother
But not juridical boundaries
We sing “La Bamba Rebelde”
Cruzaremos, Cruzaremos, Cruzaremos

We demand the freedom to be, to become
Gringos quienes se devienen a güeros
Güeros quienes se devienen a mexicanos honorarios
Only if they would take us
Molotov’s pinches gringos puñeteros

A proposal, nos comprometimos
As love should be
Self-determinate action
In which we feel like Sicilia’s Magdalena
As if, hemos vuelto al Paraíso

Not a matter of State
No queremos ser ciudadanos
Not our point
We are too much like Magón
Anarquistas de corazón

Rather we look for a world without scoundrels
Transnational solidarity like a globalized ant hill

Without a queen or king, president, or general
With una balanza del femenino y masculino
Be all about that ometeotl

Libre, libre, libre
Asi queremos ser
An assemblage of organisms
Working in concert
A multitude tan bello

We are the decolonizers
Todos nosotros somos bilingües
Giving new meaning to doble sentido
Doble idioma, doble lenguaje
But never doble moral

What is it to be hybrid Qué es ser hibrid
Between both, entre dos, tres, cuatro
Where does crossing boundaries end, begin
If it ever does

We love our people
Monopolized for the sake of a few

For we have found a home, con
L@s de abajo, the folks from below
For those never allowed to cross
But do it any way
Cómo sea

A truly solemn vow
To be a people without a land
For whom everywhere is home
Tierra y libertad, switched up

Pinches sabenadas no entienden
Cause, what the fuck a paper got to do
With living

Life is not legally sanctioned
As if a plant needs a decree
To photosynthesize and grow
Or to not
Autonomy, its own prerogative

So, to make everything uncomfortable
We are practicing race traitors
Supporters of a dominated race
Against the masters
Who claim the nation, the world

O sea, somos pragmatistas
Todo sería una piedra

Para lanzar, tirar
Solo hay que imaginarla
Como creadora del caos
Caos beneficioso que chinga
La obscenidad de ahora mismo

Think of this as poetic manifesto
A different creed
Para una nueva generación
De rebeldes
Hybrid unpatriots for mundos mejores

We see the truth Vemos la verdad
The future
And it ain’t this
So, struggle we must
Hasta la victoria siempre

A battle cry in this moment
Every moment
Internationalism regenerated
From Subcomandante Galeano’s lips
To historically driven materiality

And the words herein expressed are part
A raged fueled litany often needed to be recited

For we are done
500+ years, colonial genocide as white derangement

A continuación con la lucha contra fronteras

Cause, one day
Unico, maravilloso
We, the people,
Expropriaremos los expropriadores
Cause there is a world to win

Nosotros quienes no somos patriotas
Cantamos “La Bamba Rebelde”
We will cross, we will cross, we will cross

Reclamamos por libertad de ser, de porvenir
gringos who become white boys
white boys who become honorary mexicans
Solo si nos aceptan
Molotov’s fucking damned gringos

una propuesta, we commit to each other
como, we had returned to Paradise

We don’t want to be citizens
No es nuestro proposito
Estamos demasiados como Magón
Anarchists at heart

Con a balance of the feminine and masculine
Totalmente sobre eso ometeotl

Free, free, free
That is what we want to be
Un montaje de organismos
Trabajando en concierto
Una multidud so beautiful

Somos los descolonizadores
We are all bilingual
Otorgando un nuevo significado a double meaning
Double dialect, double language
Pero nunca double moral

Qué es ser hibrido
Entre ambos, two, three, four
If we really ever would be ourselves

And don’t get it twisted what we say here
Amamos a nuestra gente
Americans, mexicans, every human being
We just hate the idea of patriotism
Monopolizado por el bien de pocos

Hemos encontrado un hogar, with
The underdogs, l@s de abajo
However they do it

Un solemne verdadero
Ser un pueblo sin tierra
Para quienes todo el mundo es hogar
Land and liberty, volteadas
Liberty in all lands

Immigrant, without papers
Without a stamp, visa, card of who knows what color
Fucking know-nothings don’t understand
Y qué vale un pinche papel
Con vivir

La vida no se sanciona legalmente
Como una planta necesitara un decreto
Para fotosintezarse y crecerse
O no
Autonomía, su única prerrogativa

Entonces, para incomodar todo
Somos traidores de raza en práctica
 Apoyadores de una raza dominada
En contra de los jefes
Quien reivindican la nación, el mundo

So we speak two languages
Even if neither is truly decolonized
One is closer than the other
Or it could be, we are pragmatists
Anything could be a rock

For launching, throwing
It must only be imagined
Like a chaos creator
Beneficial chaos that fucks up
The obscenity of right now

Piensa en esto como manifiesto poético
Un credo diferente
For a new generation
Of rebels
Despatriotas hibrid@s para better worlds

Vemos la verdad
El futuro
Y no es esto
Entonces, hay que luchar
Until victory, always

Un grito de batalla en este momento
Cada momento
Internacionalismo regenerado

To continue with the fight against all borders

Porque, un día
Unique, marvelous
Nosotros, el pueblo
We will expropriate the expropriators
Porque hay un mundo a ganar
